Extracting Revoked and Unused Keys
Sometimes you need to ensure that digital keys cannot be redeemed after an order has been cancelled or revoked. The Key Extraction function allows you to export such keys so they can be securely invalidated.
1. Extracting Revoked Keys
When an order is cancelled, any keys associated with that order are automatically flagged as revoked. To prevent end-users from redeeming these keys, you can manually extract a list of revoked keys.
Steps:
- Being on your Dashbpoard, please click the Extract button.
- In the available dropdown, please select Revoked Keys
- Select the relevant time frame or apply filters (e.g. by connection, product, or SKU).
- Click Extract.
The exported file will contain all revoked keys from cancelled orders, ensuring they can no longer be redeemed by customers.
2. Extracting Unused Keys
In addition to revoked keys, VaultN allows you to manually extract unused keys. This can be helpful if:
- A product line is discontinued.
- A campaign or promotion has ended.
- Stock needs to be reallocated to other partners.
Steps:
- Being on your Dashbpoard, please click the Extract button.
- In the available dropdown, please select Inventory Keys
- Proceed through the next steps and select the particular product, region, platform and quantity.
- Select the desired number of keys to be extracted and confirm.
Unused keys will then be exported, ready for secure handling or redistribution once you go through that process within your major platform (e.g. steam). Please Note We recommend only using this feature when a product is delisted as you give up any visibility on those unites once they are extracted.

3. Benefits of Key Extraction
- Security – Prevents revoked keys from being activated.
- Compliance – Ensures cancelled orders are fully reflected in operational systems.
- Flexibility – Allows publishers and retailers to reallocate unused keys as required.
- Transparency – Maintains a clear record of revoked and unused digital assets.
