Understanding Connection Settings

The Connection Settings in VaultN allow publishers to manage how their products and terms are made available to retailers. Each connection can be customised to ensure compliance with commercial agreements and to optimise distribution.

1. Assign a Pricelist

Once a connection request is accepted by a connection, Publishers can assign a specific pricelist to each retailer connection. This ensures that the correct pricing model is applied consistently, whether for a global partner or a region-specific retailer.

Benefits:

  • Maintain control over pricing per partner.
  • Adapt prices to market conditions or regional strategies.
  • Ensure transparency and consistency in commercial terms.

2. Restrict Countries

Connections can be configured to restrict availability by country. This enables publishers to comply with licensing agreements and regional distribution rights.

Benefits:

  • Ensure sales comply with geographic restrictions.
  • Avoid conflicts with other distribution agreements.
  • Support tailored go-to-market strategies by region.

3. Define the Price Type

Publishers can determine whether the connection uses:

  • Wholesale Price – The retailer purchases at a fixed cost.
  • Revenue Share – Revenue is shared between publisher and retailer based on an agreed percentage. You can set the percentage in the form fields below.

Benefits:

  • Flexibility in setting commercial models.
  • Ability to manage different types of partnerships within the same platform.
  • Transparency for both parties regarding expected returns.

4. Enable Catalogue Sharing

Enabling catalogue sharing allows retailers connected to the publisher to access ALL shared SKUs directly. This streamlines onboarding and makes product launches faster and more efficient.

Benefits:

  • Simplify distribution workflows.
  • Ensure retailers always have up-to-date product catalogues.
  • Reduce manual work for both publisher and retailer.
