Testing Transactions

VaultN provides a secure way to test and validate transactions before going live, ensuring that both retailers and publishers experience smooth operations.

Sandbox Environment

During onboarding, all retailers use the Sandbox environment to perform test transactions.

  • Retailers are connected with test publisher accounts and products.
  • They place test orders to verify that keys are delivered correctly.
  • It is also required to cancel transactions during this phase, ensuring the system handles returns and cancellations properly.
  • These steps are part of the certification process before the onboarding can be completed.

Product Environment

Once onboarding is complete and the retailer is connected to a publisher, testing in the live product environment is recommended.

  • Retailers can place an order as soon as a title appears in the price list and the order accept date from the product catalog is active.
  • Typically, a staff member manually places the first order in a controlled environment (e.g., before store pages are made public).
  • After receiving the key, it should be redeemed to confirm functionality.
  • The order can then be returned or canceled:
    • The key is sent back to the publisher for revocation.
    • For the publisher, this creates a production order, which is then negated by the return request.

✅ With these steps, both sides ensure that ordering, key delivery, redemption, and returns all function correctly before full-scale operations begin.
